Principal's Message

I would like to take the opportunity to warmly welcome you to the St Bernadette's school website.

Our school motto is 'Strength through Gentleness' and it is this motto that forms the basis of the relationships that we endeavour to build with all those in our learning community - students, parents, staff, pastors, and the members of our wider parish community. In our classrooms we endeavour to provide children with curriculum that is relevant and learning opportunities that enable children to learn and solve problems in a variety of ways. Our basic beliefs are that:

  • children's minds, hearts, spirits, bodies, and character need room to move and grow
  • learning must cater for the needs and natural ability of students in a meaningful and realistic manner.

When you visit the school throughout the year to meet with teachers and discuss your child's development, we hope that you notice that St Bernadette's is a child-centred school.

The staff recognises that the primary school years are critical - a time when children grow in competence, self-confidence, compassion, and independence. Children's experience of school in these years must be positive, happy and secure so that the foundation is laid for lifelong learning.

At St Bernadette's we provide a strong partnership between home and school, which is nurtured within our parish of St Bernadette's, and led by our Parish Priest, Father Fernando Montano, who is assisted by Father Michael Gathuku.

Enjoy browsing our website and I encourage you to make contact with our school in the near future.
